This past weekend I volunteered on the Ice Age Trail again. This was the final project of the season and it turned out to be great weather on Saturday and Sunday.
Since I recently started working full-time again I was only able to volunteer on the weekend shift. The past two projects I was fortunate enough to join earlier in the week. I still had a great time and wanted to share some of the highlights here. My girlfriend was also able to join for the weekend on this project.
We were both assigned to the Parfrey’s Glen segment of the project. Both Saturday and Sunday we worked on creating water bars to keep the run-off from damaging the trail. Its was definitely a different experience than the last two times. It’s kinda scary but I’m learning a bunch of new trail building skills. Thanks to the Ice Age Trail Alliance for another successful project.
