When you are out for a 6 month journey you end up taking a lot of photos. In 2010 I took over 4,000 photographs during my thru-hike. Every now and then you get that one shot that just seems to shine and resonate with people. This was certainly the case for the publishers the Pacific Crest Trail magazine as the Cover Photo for their most recent issue display’s one of many photographs I took this day. Courtesy of
How I narrowed my choices down to the few I submitted was not an easy task. As you take a look around The Fuzzy Monkey site you’ll notice I’ve included many mini albums from my 2010 thru-hike. It would take me an enormous amount of time to post them all here so I felt mini collections offered the best option to share my collection with you. The Cover Photo on the Volume 24, No 4 was taken on September 28, 2010. This was also the day I completed my thru-hike. For all you camera junkies, I shot it was taken with a Cannon Power Shot D10, waterproof, freeze proof, shock proof digital camera. I did absolutely nothing to modify, change, enhance or alter this photo in any way. The colors and landscape you see in the photograph was exactly the way it was when I hiked this section of trail.
Today’s mini photo album includes several other photos I took on this day. Of course I included a self-portrait photo at about the same location I was when I shot the Cover Photo. The rest of the photographs included are from the same day. Just another beautiful day hiking the absolutely amazing Pacific Crest Trail.
